The Colour of My Lenses – Youth Opportunities Program
The Colour of My Lenses is a new project delivered by Focus for Ethnic Women to newcomer/immigrant youth between 16-24 years old who are not attending school.
The project will engage female youth who will learn how to use photography and digital media to document their experiences as immigrant youth. Participants will work together to create a website that will present their cumulative experiences. Workshops will focus on employment readiness and job searching. Youth will also be mentored by Canadian-born students from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University and attend workshops with them on team work and communication skills.
