This Empowering Workshop is tailored to provide immigrant women with practical skills that are crucial in today’s tech-driven world. Recognizing the pivotal role that technology plays in modern life, our program is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and empowering participants to confidently navigate the digital landscape. Through a series of engaging and hands-on sessions, participants will delve into the fundamentals of computer literacy, gaining proficiency in tasks that are essential for finding employment and everyday life. The curriculum focuses on fostering a strong foundation in using computers, with an emphasis on practical applications that enhance communication, job-seeking, and overall digital literacy.
Throughout the program, our dedicated instructors create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that each participant feels empowered to explore and embrace technology. We understand that these skills are not just tools for today but essential building blocks for a brighter and more connected future.
Key components of the program include:
1) Email Communication: Participants will learn how to create, manage, and effectively use email accounts. This skill is fundamental for professional communication, networking, and staying connected with friends and family.
2) Google Apps and Docs: The workshop covers the use of Google’s suite of applications, including Docs, Slides, Photos, and Drive. Participants will become adept at creating and editing documents, presentations, and collaborating on projects seamlessly using cloud-based tools.
3)Social Media Literacy: Recognizing the importance of online presence, the program introduces participants to social media platforms. This includes creating and managing accounts responsibly, leveraging social media for personal and professional growth, and staying informed about online safety.
4)Online job search with Indeed, Linkedin and more.
5)Resume and cover letter writing.
